Canon EF 24-105 IS Zoom Lens Review Coming Soon……

The canon EF 24-105 IS Zoom lens is the lens that stays on my canon 5D most of the time. I have used this lens for the past four years for weddings, portraits, landscape and commercial photography This is a great all round lens for any photographer. The image stabilization on the lens works brilliantly and I use the lens all the time in very dark churches at shutter speeds of a quarter of a second hand held. The build quality is also very impressive as this is an L series lens, and I would trust the Canon 24-105 in light rain as it is well sealed. In fact i use it in the rain quite allot at winter weddings and have never had it fail. The auto focus speed is amazing and i never have to worry about locking on to subjects - I just trust it and it delivers every time. The zoom range makes this lens a real bargain because you get a range of great prime lenses with image stabilization built into a solid zoom lens. I use this lens at 24mm all the time for bridal preparation at weddings and their is distortion, but it is easily fixed in canons software or photoshop. Most zoom lenses suffer from distortion at the wide end of their range and i gave up worrying about it along time ago. You also get a great 35mm lens a brilliant 50mm lens with almost no distortion at all. The 85mm - 100mm I use for portraits all the time at weddings and the results beat allot of the prime portrait lenses i have used.

The ‘training blog’ and ‘wedding blog’ will be here.

I have been running a separate photography training website/blog for 12 months now and have decided to combine ‘this blog’ and the training blog into one……..how many blogs can one man have lol. I have found allot of the bride and grooms from recent years have then wanted photography training. It amazes me how popular photography has become over the past ten years….as cameras have become more advanced and everyone seems to have a digital compact now. I will be giving tips on lighting, composition , photoshop, adobe lightroom over the winter months. If you would like to see me publish particular tips on any photography subject email me.
